What Can I Expect From a First Session?

4

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your current concerns, personal history, relationships, goals, and any challenges you are facing. You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable—there is no pressure to tell your entire story in one session.

We also believe that the first session is a chance for you to get a feel for your therapist. Therapy works best when there is a strong connection and sense of trust. Together, we'll begin identifying goals for treatment, answer any questions you may have, and discuss a plan for moving forward. Our goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the process ahead.
